Back Story : After the terrorist attack on 22nd April in Pahalgam, Kashmir by Pakistan based terrorists ( Resistance Front ) which claimed life of 26 tourists, India took diplomatic actions against Pakistan.


Operation Sindoor was a coordinated tri-service military operation launched by Indian armed forces on 7 May, 2025 aimed at dismantling terrorist infrastructure of Jaish-e-Mohmmad(JeM) and Hizbul Mujahiddin  in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

This operartion was was carried out without SEAD since India was not targeting Pakistani military infrastructure.

SEAD ( Suppression of Enemy Air Defences )  is a military operation carried out to neutrilise enemy air defences  , so that further air operations can be carried out with less risk.

Significance of name :
 
The name 'Sindoor' ( vermillion powder a symbol of marriage in Hindu tradition was chosen to honor the widows of Pahalgam terrorist attack.

26/11/2008 Terrorists attack on Taj hotel ,Mumbai in which 166 people lost there life.

 A) Abdul Rauf  Azhar/Azghar:-



1) He was involved in abduction and beheading of Daniel Pearl.

2) He was a high ranking officer of Jaish-e-Mohmmad.

3) He planned hijacking of IC-814 Indian flight with the help of Pakistan's intelligence agency and freed 36 terrorists from Indian prison including his brother Masood Azhar (founder of JeM) in negotiations.


B) Also, Masood Azhar (Jaish-e-Mohmmad Founder) admitted that 10 of his family members were killed in these strikes on 7 May 2025.
